Manage what others see about you on Google account by HIDING your personal information

 All Google services allow users to control what is seen by others about them. According to Google's support page, you can make some of the information on your Google Account private, and as such, it would not be visible to everyone. With Google services, you may control who is able to view personal information, such as your birthday or phone number. Among the information that can be displayed or hidden to other users of Google services are your birthday, gender, employment information such as where you work, personal and work contact information, places you have lived, and your educational background. In this article, we demonstrate how you can hide your personal information on your Google account.

 In addition to your name, nickname, profile picture, cover photo, and your Google account email, you may also share your Google Account email with people you contact or share with. In most Google services, you can see your name and profile picture from the "About me" page. In certain Google services, you may still see a different name or profile picture if you use a different name or picture.

By adding certain information to Hangouts, Gmail, Maps, Play, and YouTube in the Google Account, you can make certain information readily accessible to anyone. The following instructions will assist you in hiding account information:

Instructions for adding, editing, or removing personal information on Android:

1. Tap the Settings app on your device, and then tap Google and then Manage your Google Account.

2. Select Personal information at the top of the screen.

3. The option to select what others see can be found under "About me".

4. Update your information:

Add: Tap Add under each category to which you wish to add information.

Edit: Tap the information you wish to edit and then select Edit.

Choosing which information to display

When you communicate or share content with others using Google services, your name and profile picture may be seen by others who use Google services where your main Google Account profile is displayed. 1. Select the Settings button.

2. Select Google, then Manage your Google Account, then Personal Information.

3. To choose what others see, select About me under "Choose what others see.".

4. If you click on a type of information, you will be able to select who sees it.

Tap Only you Private to make the information private; tap to edit who can view it.

If you wish to make the information publicly available, tap Anyone People.
